Ten Yew Trees
Driving through the tiny village of Llangadwaladr, John and I caught a glimpse of something which intrigued us. On a hunch we stopped to take a look. Down a path, we came upon a parade, a sort of screen of yew trees.
Ten of them, ancient, possibly pre-Christian, their purpose a mystery. Beyond the screen of trees there is a little church, now no longer in use.
We have returned many times to look and wonder. The tune explores the experience of walking amongst the trees, pondering the extraordinary atmosphere that attaches to this silent secret place.
